Command Board Template Multi-View and Checklist Configuration (New Enhancement)
- What – The Command Board now offers centralized template configuration through Command Setup, allowing administrators to customize board views, display order, labels, and checklists before an incident begins. This enhancement introduces support for multiple configurable views, customizable terminology, checklist management, and improved board navigation to ensure newly created Command Boards align with operational needs.
- Why – This enhancement provides a more consistent and efficient way to configure Command Boards, reducing manual setup during active incidents. By defining views, terminology, assignments, and checklists within templates, agencies can standardize their incident command workflows while maintaining flexibility to adjust board visibility as incidents evolve.
- How –
Navigate to Command Setup to configure board views and checklists within a template.
Configure Board Views:
Enable or disable individual views, select a Default View, and arrange views in the preferred display order.
Customize View Names, Menu Labels, and section terminology to align with operational preferences.
Note: Customizations to template labels apply only to newly created Command Boards.
Organize Board Components:
Drag and reorder Command Staff, Resource Requests, and Assignments within the template editor.
Use the Command Setup dropdown to add components rather than creating them directly within the board.
Manage Divisions through the new tabbed interface, including options to rename or delete divisions.
Manage Checklists:
Create, organize, edit, and archive checklists directly within Command Setup.
Import existing checklists by type into the template.
Arrange checklists in the preferred order for incident operations.
Manage Views During an Incident:
The Incident Commander (IC) can activate or deactivate individual views as operational needs change.
Assignments remain global across views, with the Grid View serving as the source of truth.
Board navigation now uses Infinite Scroll instead of pagination.
Important: Changes made to a template do not affect Command Boards that have already been created.
- Use Case – Before an incident, a command officer configures a Command Board Template with designated views, customized terminology, organized assignments, and preconfigured checklists to ensure every new board follows established operational standards. During a large-scale incident, the Incident Commander can activate or deactivate views to focus on changing operational priorities without modifying the original template or disrupting assignments shared across views.
