Improved Inventory Item Validation for Compartments, Storages, and Pouches
- What – A new error message has been added to prevent users from associating non-existent inventory items with Compartments, Storages, and Pouches in the Assets module. Previously, entering an inventory item name that did not exist in the system could automatically create a new inventory record when saving. Now, only existing inventory items can be selected, preventing unintended inventory creation.
- Why – This improvement helps maintain accurate inventory records by preventing duplicate, misspelled, or incomplete items from being unintentionally added to the Inventory List. It ensures new inventory items are created through the appropriate workflows.
-
How
- When adding inventory to a Compartment, Storage, or Pouch, enter the inventory item name in the search field.
- Select the desired item from the existing inventory search results.
- If the entered item does not exist, an error message will appear, preventing the item from being added.
- To create a new inventory item, use the Receive workflow or navigate to Setup > Inventory > Add Inventory List.
- Use Case – When assigning equipment to a compartment, a user accidentally enters an incorrect inventory item name. Instead of creating an unintended inventory record, the system displays an error message, prompting the user to select an existing item or create a new one through the appropriate inventory workflow. This helps keep inventory records accurate and organized.
Improved PDF Attachments in Work Order Emails
- What – Resolved an issue in the Assets module where PDF attachments were not consistently included in work order emails. Work order PDFs are now included in system-generated email notifications when a work order is created and when users manually select Send Email to share work order details with assigned users or teams.
- Why – This fix ensures recipients receive the work order PDF directly in their email notifications, providing access to important work order details without requiring additional steps. It also improves the reliability of email delivery by updating how work order PDFs are processed and attached.
-
How
- When a work order email notification is generated, the system automatically includes the work order PDF as an attachment.
- To manually send a work order email, open the desired Work Order and select Send Email.
- The system includes the generated work order PDF in the email without requiring any additional configuration.
📝
Important Note:
Existing functionality for attaching user-uploaded files and photos remains unchanged.
- Use Case – When a work order is created and assigned to a user or team, the email notification includes a PDF copy of the work order for easy reference. If the work order needs to be shared again, selecting Send Email ensures the recipient receives the PDF attachment along with the work order notification, allowing them to review the details directly from their email.
