New Features


Feature for iOS & Android
  1. What: The ability for the phone user to have more control of the address window. 
                                                                                     

  2. Why: Due to limited screen real estate, it is beneficial for the user to be able to control how much of the screen is occupied with the address window.

  3. How: Slide the top bar of the address window to a 1/3 screen, half screen or full screen position.

  4. Use Case: If the user wants to see more of the map and less of the address window or more of the address window and less of the map.

Feature Enhancements


Enhancement for iOS
  1. What: Offline Mode now extends to data sharing clients.

  2. Why: Historically, a department that has Online Mode enabled was only able to access the occupancies, preplan items and hydrants from within their shape file in the event of a loss of connection.  This enhancement now includes the occupancies, preplan items and hydrants from clients that the department shares data with also.

  3. How: No changes necessary on the user or admin side.

  4. Use Case: When the user loses connectivity and is running a mutual aid call outside of their jurisdiction, now the user has the ability to see and interact with the occupancies, preplan items and hydrants from that outside area.

Enhancement for iOS & Android
  1. What: Ability to enlarge text within certain parts of the Mobile App.

  2. Why: Users wanted a way to make the text more readable in the Mobile App.

  3. How: When accessing the Preplan Dashboard or any of the outside modules in the Mobile App through the app Menu:
    1. iOS: a magnifying glass with a "+" to enlarge text, a magnifying glass with a "-" to reduce text and an arrow circle to reset the text to the default size will populate in the upper right of the app window.
    2. Android: a "+" to enlarge text, a "-" to reduce text and an arrow circle to reset the text to the default size will populate in the upper right of the app window.

  1. Use Case: If the user should have difficulty reading the text in an applicable area of the mobile app, they can simply enlarge it using the new functionality.

Enhancement for iOS & Android
  1. What: Ability for the app to always produce an audio alert regardless if the app is open or not.

  2. Why: Historically the app has only produced an audio alert if the app is in the background or closed.

  3. How: There is a new toggle in Menu > App Settings entitled "Always Play Sound".  When this toggle is active, the system will sound an alert whether the app is in the background or closed.

  4. Use Case: If the user would like to always hear an alert for dispatches, this feature solves that issue.


Enhancement for Android
  1. What: Added the ability to switch or add accounts between Local and SSO (Single Sign On) on Android

  2. Why: Previously, users were unable to add and switch accounts if they were signing into an SSO account.

  3. How: Switch/Add Account is now available with SSO as primary or additional added account.


Enhancement for Android
  1. What: Ability for the app to now accept up to 8 status options. Users will now have more response types available within the app.

  2. Why: Previously, the app only supported the use of 6 status buttons.

  3. How:  Workflow has not changed from Response > Responder Setup > Responder Status through the web client.

Enhancement for Android
  1. What: Update Google Maps Version that will now display clearer, brighter and provide a faster map experience while using Google Maps within the App.

  2. Why: Newer version of google provides better functionality and improved usability.

  3. How: No actions need to be taken by user. Google maps will automatically update and display in its newer version upon update of the app..


Fixes

            iOS
  1. What: When a user status' "To Station" in the incident, the banner that appears now has the address of the Station they have chosen instead of the dispatched location.

  2. How: No changes necessary on the user or admin side.

  3. Use Case: After the user status' "To Station", they will now see the Station address populate in the Header Bar.
