Purpose
First Due LMS courses provide self-paced training on features and workflows within the First Due platform.
Personnel can self-enroll in available First Due LMS courses through Training > Course Library. Self-enrollment is available to agencies with Basic Training, Advanced Training, and agencies that have not purchased the Training Module.
For agencies without the Training Module, self-enrollment is the available method for personnel to access First Due LMS courses. Agencies can track personnel completion through First Due LMS reporting.
Background Information
First Due LMS courses are e-learning courses designed to help personnel learn how to use different areas of the First Due platform.
Most courses are designed to take approximately one hour or less, although personnel can work through them at their own pace.
Agencies with Basic Training or Advanced Training may see additional functionality within the Training Module. Agencies without the Training Module will have access to First Due LMS courses through the Course Library.
Your agency may also create and share a Course Library view that displays only First Due LMS courses.
Required Permissions
Your user role must have permission to access and self-enroll in First Due LMS courses.
Access is initially granted to Admin roles. Agencies can grant the appropriate permissions to additional roles so other personnel can self-enroll.
If you do not see the Training Module or cannot access the Course Library, contact your agency administrator to verify your role permissions.

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the Training Module
Select the First Due logo in the upper-left corner to open the module stack.
Select Training.
2. Open the Course Library
Select Course Library.
If your agency has Basic Training or Advanced Training, you may see other Training Module functionality in addition to First Due LMS courses.
If your agency has not purchased the Training Module, First Due LMS self-enrollment is the only available training option.
3. Locate First Due LMS Courses
Locate the First Due LMS course you want to take. You can search for courses by module in the First Due LMS Course Offerings.
Your agency may have created a shared view that filters the Course Library to display First Due LMS courses.
To check for a shared view, select Shared With Me and look for a First Due LMS course view provided by your agency.
You can favorite the view for easier access. You can also pin the view so it opens automatically when you return to the Course Library.
4. Review the Course Description
In the Actions column, select the eye icon for a course.
Review the description to learn more about the course and determine whether it is relevant to your role or responsibilities.
Close the description if finished or click Enroll to start the course.
5. Self-Enroll in the Course

The enrollment window opens.
Select Start to launch the course.
6. Complete the Course
Work through the course at your own pace.
Most First Due LMS courses are designed to take approximately one hour or less based on average completion time.
You do not have to complete the course in one sitting. If you need to stop, close the course window. Your progress is saved so you can return later.
Warning:
Try to complete any course you start by the last day of the month you are in. Courses are updated on the first business day and may reset while in 'In Progress' status. See First Due LMS Course Update Cycle for more details.
7. Resume an In-Progress Course
Return to Training > Course Library.
Locate the course you previously started.
Open the course again and select Continue or the available resume option to return to your saved location.
After you complete the course, its enrollment status updates to show that the course has been completed.
Tracking Completion
First Due LMS completion information can be reviewed through First Due LMS reporting.
This is especially important for agencies that do not have the Training Module. These agencies can communicate which courses personnel are expected to complete separately, have personnel self-enroll through the Course Library, and use First Due LMS reports to review completion.
Agencies with the Training Module can track completion through Reports, Scheduled Training, or Completed Training.
Best Practices
- Use a shared or pinned Course Library view, when available, to quickly locate First Due LMS courses.
- Review the course description before enrolling to confirm that the course applies to your role or responsibilities.
- Complete an in-progress course before a new version of the course is released whenever possible.
- Return to the Course Library to resume courses you were unable to finish in one session.
- Agencies without the Training Module should clearly communicate which LMS courses personnel are expected to complete and use First Due LMS reporting to monitor completion.
- Select courses that align with your responsibilities and role within the agency.
