Purpose Statement
Adding a SCORM file to a custom online course allows training administrators to include packaged eLearning content within the Training module.
SCORM content may include videos, quizzes, interactive activities, or other training materials created for use in a Learning Management System (LMS). SCORM content can be configured as required for course credit or included as optional course material.
Background Information
SCORM stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model. It is a standard file format used by Learning Management Systems to deliver packaged online learning content.
SCORM packages may contain multiple types of training content, including:
- Videos
- Quizzes
- Interactive activities
- Other eLearning materials
To add a SCORM file, the course must either be in Draft Status or Published so long as it has not been assigned to another user.
Adding SCORM content is one of the available options when building an online course. Each content type is optional and can be included based on the training needs of the course.
The maximum supported SCORM file size is 1.536 GB.
Important Note: This is part of a series of steps to create a custom online course. While each content type is not required to create an online course, they are presented in order here for efficient presentation.

Step 2: Adding an mp4
Step 3: Adding a Document
Step 4: Adding an Audio File
Step 5: Adding a Quiz
Step 6: Adding a SCORM file (This Step)
Step 7: Adding an External Link
