Feature Enhancements

Station View Access and Real-Time Updates

  • What: Station View is now available to everyone with Responder access, and responder status updates happen automatically during active calls
  • Why: Makes it easier for station personnel to access Station View and see current information without refreshing the page
  • How: Automatically available based on your existing permissions - status updates appear in real-time
  • Use Case: Station personnel can monitor who's responding to calls and see status changes as they happen

Weather Display in Fahrenheit

  • What: Weather information now shows temperature in Fahrenheit and uses standard U.S. measurements
  • Why: Makes weather information easier to read for American fire departments
  • How: Weather data automatically displays in familiar units
  • Use Case: Station personnel can quickly understand weather conditions using familiar temperature readings

Cleaner Notification Center

  • What: Dispatch notifications no longer appear in the notification center, reducing clutter
  • Why: Keeps notification center focused on important alerts since you already get dispatches through text, email, and push notifications
  • How: Dispatch notifications are automatically filtered out of the notification center
  • Use Case: See only relevant notifications in the notification center while still receiving dispatches through your preferred methods


Better Data Sharing Controls

  • What: Administrators can now control which other departments can see your unit locations
  • Why: Gives departments flexibility to share location information with specific partners while maintaining privacy
  • How: New setting in Admin allows selective sharing of unit locations
  • Use Case: Share unit positions with mutual aid partners while keeping sensitive deployments private


Enhanced Message Filtering

  • What: Dispatch and CAD message filters have clearer names and are turned on by default for new users
  • Why: Ensures you don't miss important dispatch or CAD messages
  • How: New users automatically receive all dispatch messages; existing users keep their current settings
  • Use Case: Get all critical communications by default with easy-to-understand filter options

System Performance Improvements

  • What: Behind-the-scenes improvements to make the system faster and more secure
  • Why: Better performance during busy periods and enhanced security for sensitive information
  • How: Database and security improvements work automatically in the background
  • Use Case: Faster response times and better reliability during high-usage periods

Fixes

Improved Station View Reliability

  • Station View dashboard loads more reliably and shows clearer messages when you don't have access to certain information Eliminates loading problems and helps you understand what permissions you might need to display station view properly.

Real-Time Status Updates in Station View

  • Fixed problem where you had to refresh the page to see responder status changes during active calls

Mobile App Dispatch Display

  • Fixed issue where some dispatches weren't showing up in the mobile app, ensuring you see all calls

System Loading and Performance

  • Fixed performance problems that were causing slow loading and browser issues, especially when viewing device locations
