The Multi-Action workflow within the Medications module enables Fire/EMS personnel to perform multiple medication-related actions in a single streamlined process. This functionality improves efficiency by allowing users to combine operations such as removing expired medications while simultaneously receiving replacements, reducing redundant data entry and ensuring accurate medication tracking throughout complex inventory transactions.
Medication management often requires multiple sequential actions to maintain accurate inventory records and regulatory compliance. The Multi-Action workflow recognizes that real-world medication handling frequently involves compound operations—such as removing expired stock and immediately restocking, or transferring medications between kits while documenting usage. By consolidating these actions into a single workflow, the system reduces administrative burden, minimizes data entry errors, and maintains comprehensive audit trails for controlled substance compliance. This feature is available for both Med Kits and Med Supply, ensuring consistent processes across all medication inventory types.
Users must have appropriate permissions within the Medications module to perform multi-action workflows. Required permissions typically include:
Contact your system administrator if you cannot perform medication actions or access the multi-action workflow.

Med Kits will be used for this demonstration, however, the process to perform Multi Actions is the same for Med Supply.

Do:
Don't:
Q: When should I use multi-action workflow versus individual actions? A: Use multi-action workflows when operations are logically connected, such as removing expired stock and receiving replacement inventory, or when managing multiple kits in sequence.
Q: Can I add more than one additional action? A: Yes, you can continue adding actions through the "Add Action" dropdown to create complex workflows as needed.
Q: What happens if I close the workflow before signing? A: If you selected "Complete and Sign Later," the actions are saved and accessible from the Dashboard. If you close without completing or saving, the workflow will be lost.
Q: Can I edit actions after they've been signed? A: No, signed actions create permanent Med Log entries for compliance purposes. Corrections require new transactions with appropriate documentation.
Q: Why can't I see the "Sign" button on the Dashboard? A: Ensure you have pending actions that require signature and that you have appropriate electronic signature permissions.
