Documenting Medication Usage

Purpose

  1. To explain how to document medication usage in the medication module.

Directions 


1. Begin by navigating to the Medications module then selecting either Med Kits or Dashboard.

2. If documenting from the Med Kits, select on a kit from which the medications were used then select the Usage button.

3. If documenting from the Dashboard select the + Usage button.






4. From the Usage modal you are able to edit Location, Source and search by Incident # or Patient name.
  1. Location - Allows to select a different kit
  2. Source - Allows to select from Dispatch Notification, Incident Report or ePCR.
  3. Incident/Patient - Allows to search by incident number or patients name.
In order to search by Patient your account must have the ePCR module.






5. From the Location dropdown, change or update the kit in which the medication was used if needed.

6. To document an incident number select either Dispatch Notification or Incident Report.

7. In the Incident # field began typing to populate a list of incidents.






8. If ePCR was chosen in Source then search by Patient.

9. Once patient is selected a list of medications will appear that was used during that incident.

10. From the Available medications select which medication was used the select the right arrow.

11. From the Used medications you can document the number of units along with amount used.

12. If your agency requires to capture signatures select sign and follow your agencies procedures.
