Purpose
This article provides an overview of the Training subscription tiers available in First Due and the features included with each option.
First Due offers Basic Training, Advanced Training, and a separate module for Evaluations. Understanding the differences between these options helps departments identify which training management tools are available within their subscription and determine which additional capabilities may support their training programs.
Background Information
First Due's Training solutions are organized into two primary subscription tiers, with an optional add-on for performance and competency evaluations.
- Basic Training: Provides core training management tools to build and maintain a strong training foundation.
- Advanced Training: Includes all Basic Training features, plus additional tools for creating online courses, developing quizzes, and accessing optional third-party training content.
- Evaluations (Add): Provides performance and competency assessment tools that can be added to either Basic Training or Advanced Training.
Important: All features included in Basic Training are also included in Advanced Training. The Evaluations module is available to be added with either subscription tier and is not automatically included in Advanced Training.

Choosing the Right Training Subscription
Each subscription option supports different training management needs.

Advanced Training is designed for departments that want all Basic Training functionality, along with tools to create online courses, build quizzes, and expand training opportunities through optional online content libraries.
Evaluations is designed for departments that want to assess and track personnel skills and competencies in addition to their existing training management capabilities.
Departments can use either Basic Training or Advanced Training as their foundation and add Evaluations when competency assessment tools are needed.
Best Practices
- Review your department's training needs. Identify which tools are needed for training documentation, course development, and competency assessments.
- Understand which features are included. Advanced Training includes all Basic Training features, but Evaluations is a separate add-on.
- Consider optional content libraries. Departments interested in third-party online courses should review available content partner options.
- Recognize updated feature names. Credentials was formerly called Certifications, and Scheduled Training was formerly called Training Classes.
- Check feature availability. Task Books are coming soon and should not be considered an available feature until officially released.
