Purpose Statement
Field Management in the Training Module allows administrators to control which fields are required and which fields can be edited during the training class creation process. This configuration ensures data consistency, enforces department policies, and reduces errors when templates are used to create classes.
Background Information
Field Management is designed to give Fire and EMS agencies greater control over training data entry. By defining required fields, departments can ensure critical information is always captured. By limiting edits, administrators can lock down key fields when courses or templates are reused, preserving standardized training structures.
Field Management is divided into two primary areas:
Required Fields Management, which enforces mandatory data entry
Limit Edits Allowed, which restricts changes when a template is used to create a class
These settings are managed at the Training Module setup level and apply system-wide.
Required Permissions
To configure Field Management settings, users must have:
Access to the Training Module
Training Administrator or System Administrator permissions
Permission to access Training Module Setup
These permissions are typically assigned to training officers, administrators, or designated data managers.
