What – Two new capabilities have been added to improve the quality and accuracy of contact data within occupancy records: required field configuration for contacts and a contact verification step within the inspection workflow.
Why – Ensuring contact information is accurate and complete is critical for public safety operations. These enhancements help agencies maintain data integrity and confirm that contact details are current before inspections are finalized.
How
- Agencies can now configure contact data quality controls across two areas of the platform:
- Contact Required Fields & Field Management (Pre-Plan/Occupancy): Administrators can configure which contact fields are required per user role through Field Management settings. Fields that are not applicable can be marked using a Not Applicable / Not Recorded dropdown. Validation will trigger at the time of save across all relevant contact entry points.
- Contact Verification in Inspection Workflow: An agency-wide Contact Verification step has been added to active inspections. Inspectors must confirm the accuracy of contact information before an inspection can be completed.
- This functionality must be enabled for your agency before it becomes available — contact your account representative for more information.Use Case
- An administrator configures specific contact fields as required for field inspectors, ensuring critical information is never left blank when saving an occupancy record.
- An inspector reviewing a commercial property is prompted to verify that the listed contact information is still accurate before marking the inspection complete.
- An agency standardizes how incomplete contact data is recorded, using the Not Applicable / Not Recorded option to distinguish between missing and intentionally omitted information.
