Register for the WebinarSaved Views System Now Available on the Permit List (Feature Enhancement)
- What – The Permit List on the AHJ side has been migrated to the updated Saved Views system, bringing it in line with other list views in the platform. Users can now fully configure and manage saved views, including filters, columns, sorting, pagination, and visibility settings.
- Why – This change ensures a consistent experience across list views in the platform, reducing confusion and making it easier for users to manage and navigate permit data efficiently.
-
How
- Navigate to the Permit List on the AHJ side.
- Use the Saved Views dropdown to select, create, or manage views.
- Configure the view by setting preferred filters, criteria, columns, and sort order.
- Set visibility to control whether a view is personal or shared with others.
- Pagination preferences are also saved as part of the view configuration.
- When editing a shared view, changes will be reflected for all users with access to that view.
- The Permit List supports the full Saved Views workflow, similar to other list views in the platform.
- Use Case – A user who regularly filters permits by a specific status can save that configuration as a named view and quickly reapply it without manually resetting filters each session. A team lead can create a shared view with standardized columns and sorting so team members are working from a consistent permit list layout. Users managing multiple permit workflows can also maintain several saved views tailored to different criteria and easily switch between them using the Saved Views dropdown.
Manual Business Lookup for Non-Standard Permits (New Feature)
What – AHJ users creating Standalone, Pre-Development, or Special Event permits can now search for and attach a Business Portal business as a contact directly within the permit's Contacts area. Once linked, the business association triggers the same downstream behavior as permits created through the Business Portal.
Why – Previously, AHJ users had no way to associate a Business Portal business with non-standard permit types, creating a gap in contact management and notification workflows for these permit categories.
How
- Navigate to the Contacts area of a Standalone, Pre-Development, or Special Event permit
- Locate the new Business Lookup action, which appears alongside the existing Vendor Lookup option
- Search for a business by name, address, or email to return matching results
- Select the desired business to link it to the permit
- To update the association, use the Business Lookup to select a different business, or remove the existing link to clear the business from the permit's notification recipients
- Only one business can be linked to a permit at a time
- Removing a linked business will also remove that business's email from notification recipients
- Permits already linked to a business through the Business Portal will not be affected-
Use Case
- An AHJ user creating a Special Event permit can search for and attach the organizing business, ensuring the correct contact receives permit-related notifications.
- When a business changes for a Pre-Development permit, the user can remove the existing business link and attach the updated business without needing to recreate the permit.
- An AHJ user processing a Standalone permit can locate a business by address and link it directly, maintaining consistent records across permit and business data.
