Auto Clock-Out Now Calculates Duration Based on Actual Clock-In Time (Bug Fix)
What - The Auto Clock-Out feature has been corrected to ensure users are clocked out based on the full intended duration of their assignment, rather than at the scheduled end time. This fix eliminates inconsistent recorded durations on the Time Card when a user clocks in late.
Why - The previous logic produced unreliable Time Card records by anchoring the auto clock-out to the assignment's scheduled end time, which did not account for late clock-ins. Consistent and accurate duration tracking is essential for reliable workforce and time management.
How
- This fix is currently behind a feature flagand is scheduled for an upcoming release
- Once enabled, the Auto Clock-Outfeature will automatically calculate the clock-out time based on the full assignment duration starting from the user's actual clock-in time
- No manual configuration is required — the corrected behavior will apply automatically when a user is clocked in late for an assignment
- Recorded durations on the Time Cardwill reflect the complete intended assignment length regardless of when the user clocked in
Use Case
- A user who clocks in late to an assignment will now be automatically clocked out after the full intended assignment duration, rather than at the original scheduled end time.
- A supervisor reviewing Time Cards will see consistent and accurate duration records that reflect actual time worked based on clock-in, not the scheduled end time.
- An administrator auditing shift records will no longer encounter unexpectedly shortened durations caused by late clock-ins triggering early auto clock-outs.
