Register for the WebinarAnnual Inspection Scheduling Reset Based on Final Re-Inspection Completion (New Feature)
What - A new agency-level toggle in the Inspections module allows the next initial inspection to be scheduled based on the completion date of the final re-inspection — specifically, the inspection in a series that is closed with no open violations.
Why - Agencies needed a more accurate way to anchor recurring inspection schedules, ensuring the next inspection cycle reflects when a property was truly brought into compliance rather than a fixed calendar date.
-
How
- This feature is controlled by a feature flag and is targeted for a future release
- Once enabled, navigate to the Inspections module settings at the agency level
- Locate and enable the Annual Inspection Date Reset toggle
- When an inspection series is completed with no open violations, the system will automatically set the next initial inspection date based on that completion date plus the agency's configured Default Schedule cadence
- Until the toggle is enabled, existing scheduling behavior remains unchanged for backward compatibility
-
Use Case
- An inspector closes out a re-inspection with no remaining violations, and the system automatically calculates and schedules the next annual inspection from that resolved date.
- An agency wants inspection cycles to reflect true compliance resolution rather than arbitrary calendar resets, reducing scheduling gaps or overlaps.
- A supervisor reviewing upcoming inspections sees accurate due dates that align with when properties were last confirmed compliant.
