- What - Field Management now allows administrators to rename the Inspection Zone, Inspection District, and Fire Zone field labels to match the terminology used by their organization. Renamed labels are reflected anywhere these fields are displayed, including forms, list views, filters, reports, and exports, while the underlying field data and associated records remain unchanged.
- Why - Organizations may use different terminology for operational boundaries, such as Zone, District, or Battalion. Allowing these field labels to be customized provides greater flexibility to align the application with familiar organizational terminology without changing the fields' existing functionality or data.
-
How
- Navigate to Field Management.
- Locate Inspection Zone, Inspection District, or Fire Zone.
- Select the name for the field you want to update.
- Enter the new display label and save the change.
- The new label is applied anywhere the field appears in the application while preserving existing field data and associated records.
- A blank label or a label that duplicates another existing Field Management label cannot be saved and will display a validation error.
- Note: Renaming changes only the field's display label; it does not modify the underlying field key, data structure, options, values, or associated records.
- Note: The ITM List is not included in this enhancement.
- Use Case - An organization that refers to inspection areas as "Battalions" instead of "Inspection Zones" can rename the Inspection Zone label to "Battalion." Users will then see "Battalion" wherever that field is supported throughout the application, while all existing inspection zone data and record associations remain intact.
Global Contacts Merge Tool (New Feature)
Contact Directory -Link
What - A new Merge Tool is now available within Global Contacts, allowing users to combine duplicate contact records into a single, unified contact through a guided, full-page workflow.
Why - Duplicate contact records can create confusion and inconsistency across an agency's data. This tool gives users a structured way to consolidate contacts while maintaining control over which information is retained.
-
How
Navigate to Global Contacts and select the contact records you wish to merge
Review the onboarding modal that introduces the merge workflow before proceeding
On the full-page merge layout, review and select the desired values for single-value fields and multi-select fields
If needed, designate or confirm the base contact — the primary record the merged data will be associated with
Review your selections on the merge confirmation step before finalizing
Upon completion, a post-merge success state will confirm the merge was processed successfully
Note: There is a merge limit (5) on the number of contacts that can be combined in a single merge action
-
Use Case
A user notices two records exist for the same individual and uses the Merge Tool to combine them into one accurate contact.
A user merging records can choose which phone number, address, or other field values to keep when the two contacts contain conflicting information.
A user can confirm the base contact to ensure the correct primary record is preserved after the merge is complete.
