Purpose Statement
The Report Chart Widget allows users to display the chart portion of a Summary Report directly on a dashboard. This helps agencies quickly visualize trends, statistics, and performance metrics without opening the full report.
Unlike the standard Report Widget, the Report Chart Widget only displays the chart visualization and does not include the underlying report data table.
Background Information
Report Chart Widgets are designed to provide high-level visual insights from Summary Reports created in Ad Hoc Reporting. These widgets are commonly used on dashboards to monitor incident trends, staffing activity, response metrics, or operational summaries.
Important considerations:
- Only Summary Reports with charts can be used
- Tabular Reports do not support charts and will not appear in the selection list
- The widget title must be entered manually
- Dashboard users can resize and configure widgets after placement
Common use cases include:
- Incident trends by month/year
- Call volume summaries
- Staffing analytics
- Response performance metrics

Troubleshooting & FAQs
Why is my report not appearing in the Report Chart list?
Only Summary Reports with charts enabled will appear. Tabular Reports are not supported.
Why does the widget not show report data?
The Report Chart Widget only displays the chart visualization. To display report data tables, use the standard Report Widget instead.
Why is my widget title blank?
The widget title must be entered manually. Report names do not automatically populate the title bar.
I updated the widget but do not see changes.
Ensure you:
- Save the widget configuration
- Save the dashboard layout afterward
Can I resize the widget after adding it?
Yes. Use the resize handle in the lower-left corner of the widget while in Edit Layout mode.
