Purpose Statement
The Page widget allows users to embed a webpage directly into a First Due dashboard. This provides quick, centralized access to internal First Due pages or external websites, enabling users to view and interact with content without leaving the dashboard.
Background Information
A Page widget functions as a miniature web browser embedded inside a dashboard widget frame. Multiple Page widgets can be added to a single dashboard, allowing users to combine several web-based resources into one unified view.
Common use cases include:
Embedding internal First Due modules (e.g., Shiftboard, reports, dashboards)
Displaying external websites such as news feeds, weather tools, or analytics platforms
Creating executive or command dashboards with high-level system visibility
Page widgets respect existing user permissions. Users can only view or interact with embedded content based on the permissions already assigned to their account.
Required Permissions
To create or modify a Page widget, users must have:
Access to the Dashboards module
Permission to edit dashboards or dashboard layouts
Interaction within an embedded page widget is further limited by the user’s permissions for the embedded content itself. For example:
Users with view-only permissions can only view embedded modules
Users with admin or edit permissions can make changes directly within the embedded widget

Best Practices
Use clear, descriptive widget titles that match the embedded content.
Copy URLs directly from your browser to avoid formatting errors.
Resize widgets to ensure embedded pages are readable without excessive scrolling.
Use Remove Navigation for internal First Due pages to maximize usable space.
Test external websites first—some sites block embedding inside dashboards.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
The webpage does not display inside the widget.
Some websites block embedding inside other pages. If this happens, confirm the URL is correct or try a different site.
I can’t interact with the embedded page.
Your ability to interact with embedded First Due pages depends on your existing permissions for that module. View-only access will allow viewing only.
I don’t see Edit Layout or Add Widget options.
You may not have dashboard editing permissions. Contact your administrator.
Can I open the page in a full browser tab?
Yes—click the expand arrow in the upper-right corner of the widget frame.
Additional Considerations
Page widgets are useful for combining multiple First Due pages into one dashboard for faster daily workflows.
Using Remove Navigation can free up vertical space and improve readability for embedded internal pages.
Deleted widgets cannot be recovered—confirm before selecting the trash can icon.
