Silent Suppression of Export-Generated ePCR PDF Validation Findings
What - Implemented a behind-the-scenes enhancement that automatically suppresses specific validation findings related to ePCR PDF attachment requirements (eOther.09 and eOther.11) when the system is configured to attach PDFs during export, ensuring these non-actionable warnings no longer appear to users during report completion.
Why - Some validation rules require a PDF attachment at the time of submission, but the system generates and attaches this PDF during export rather than during report completion. This caused warnings to appear that users could not act on, leading to confusion and unnecessary attempts to manually upload a file. This update removes those misleading messages so users can complete reports with confidence.
How
Navigate to EMS Setup → General Settings
Locate the option to exclude schematron validations for eOther.09 and eOther.11
Enable this setting to activate suppression behavior
Ensure at least one endpoint has Attach PDF = YES configured
Complete and validate reports as usual
Note: Suppression only applies when the system can confirm the PDF will be attached during export
Note: Other attachment-related validation rules will still display as normal
Use Case - When completing a patient care report in a state that requires an attached ePCR document, providers will no longer see misleading validation errors indicating a missing attachment, as long as the system is configured to automatically attach the PDF during export. This creates a smoother workflow where users can confidently complete reports without attempting unnecessary manual uploads, while still ensuring compliance at submission time.
Workflow Hide Rules for Sections and Sub-sections
What - Workflow hide rules now support hiding entire Sections and individual Sub-sections, in addition to individual fields, allowing administrators to apply conditional visibility rules at broader levels within the ePCR form.
Why - This improvement reduces configuration time and helps streamline clinical documentation by removing irrelevant areas of the form when they do not apply, creating a cleaner and more efficient data entry experience.
How
Navigate to Workflows and open the applicable workflow rule configuration.
Select Hide as the rule type.
Choose the target to hide: an Individual Field, Section, or Sub-section.
Configure the conditional logic as needed.
When a Section is hidden, the Section header, all Sub-sections, and all fields within that Section are hidden.
When a Sub-section is hidden, only that Sub-section and its fields are hidden.
Use the Unhide button while viewing an ePCR to temporarily show all hidden Sections, Sub-sections, and fields.
Use Case - An administrator can configure a workflow so that when a specific response indicates a portion of the report is not applicable, the related Section or Sub-section is hidden automatically instead of requiring each field to be hidden individually, reducing clutter and helping clinicians focus only on relevant documentation areas.
