Medications Release Notes - May 2026
Global Custody Exchange Permission
- What - Introduced a new Medications permission that allows designated users to initiate and complete a custody exchange without requiring current kit possession or override access, increasing flexibility in managing custody transfers while maintaining controlled access boundaries.
- Why - This enhancement provides greater operational flexibility during custody exchanges by reducing dependency on kit possession or broad override privileges, helping agencies streamline workflows while keeping elevated permissions more tightly restricted.
- How
- Navigate to User Management or Permissions/Role Configuration
- Locate and enable the Medications permission for the appropriate users or roles
- Save changes to apply the updated access
- Note: Only assign this permission to users who require the ability to perform custody exchanges without kit possession
- Note: This does not grant full override capabilities; existing override permissions remain separately controlled
- Use Case - During a shift change or inter-unit transfer, a supervisor can assign the Medications permission to specific personnel, allowing them to complete custody exchanges even if they do not currently hold the kit, ensuring continuity of operations without needing to grant broader override access.
