Purpose Statement
The Passdown feature in the Events and Activities Module allows departments to create a shift-to-shift summary of selected Daily Operations activities. Passdowns provide a digital record of important events and activities that can be reviewed by incoming personnel, command staff, or other authorized users.
Once created, a Passdown is available as a PDF that can be viewed or downloaded for operational review and recordkeeping.
Background Information
Passdowns help Fire and EMS agencies maintain operational awareness between shifts by collecting selected Daily Operations entries into a single summary.
Passdowns are created from the Daily Operations List View within the Events and Activities Module. Users can filter the displayed activities, select the entries they want to include, identify the person creating the Passdown, add a signature, and generate a PDF.
Completed Passdowns can be reviewed from the Passdown List, where users can see who created each Passdown, when it was created, how many entries it contains, and the individual activities included in the package.
Common uses include:
- Shift change documentation
- Daily firehouse activity summaries
- Command staff review
- Training and activity documentation
- Operational recordkeeping
Before creating a Passdown, the activities you want to include must already exist in Daily Operations.
Required Permissions
Users must have access to the Events and Activities Module and Daily Operations to complete this workflow.
Users must also have the appropriate permissions to create and view Passdowns.
Note: Specific permission names were not identified in the provided workflow. Department administrators should verify that the user's role has the necessary Events and Activities and Passdown access.
