Purpose Statement
The Notification Settings area of the Training Module allows administrators to control how and when users are notified about key training-related events. Proper configuration ensures that the right people receive timely, actionable alerts for assignments, expirations, and overdue training, improving compliance, accountability, and communication across the department.
Background Information
Training notifications support Fire and EMS agencies by automating alerts tied to critical training events, such as course assignments, certifications nearing expiration, and overdue requirements. Notification Settings are managed globally at the module level and apply across all courses and classes.
Administrators can configure who receives notifications, which delivery methods are used, and—depending on the event—when notifications are sent. Some notifications use predefined timeframes, while others require administrators to define custom thresholds.
Required Permissions
To configure Training Module Notification Settings, users must have:
Access to the Training Module
Training Administrator or System Administrator permissions
Permission to access Training Module Setup
These permissions are typically limited to training officers, administrators, or designated data managers.
