Hydrant Service Checklist: Overview

Purpose Statement

This article explains how to create, manage, and customize Hydrant Service Checklists within the Hydrant Module. These checklists are associated with specific hydrant types and help standardize inspection and maintenance procedures.


Background Information

Hydrant Service Checklists allow departments to define inspection criteria based on the type of hydrant. This ensures that each hydrant type receives the appropriate service and documentation. Administrators can create, activate, deactivate, and customize views of these checklists for operational efficiency.


Required Permissions

Users must have access to the Hydrant Module. Only users with Admin or Configuration permissions can create, edit, or manage Hydrant Service Checklists and custom views. Permissions can be managed under Admin > Roles & Permissions > Hydrant Module.
  1. Hydrant Service--Allows user to start & complete Service Checklists
  2. Hydrant Service Checklists--Allows users to Read, Update, Create and Delete Hydrant Service Checklists

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to the Hydrant Module and then select Hydrant Service Checklist




2. To create a new Hydrant Service Checklist Select the Add Checklist Button.




3.  At the top of the checklist section, use the dropdown to change the ist view. There are 3 default views:
  1. Active Checklist
  2. Deactivated Checklist
  3. Default Checklist




4. To create a custom view, select the vertical ellipses and then Add View.




5.  To Create a custom view complete the following:
  1. Enter a Name for the new view.
  2. Select which columns to display, and their order.
  3.  The sorting preferences for two rows can also be customized.




6.  Filters can be selected from the provided list





7.  Criteria can also be added to refine the view.





8. Views can be shared with all users, specific users, or kept private. You can also allow others to edit the custom view.
9. The default pagination can also be selected.





10.  When finished select Save.





11. Custom Views can also be Cloned, Edited and Deleted.




12. The default filters for each list can be displayed on the right by selecting the Filter Button as well as pinned open using the thumbtack icon or closed with the X icon.




13.  Each column can be rearranged as desired.




14.  Columns can also be sorted in ascending, descending or default order.




15.  In the Actions column, multiple actions can be applied to a Hydrant Service Checklist.
  1. Deactivate a checklist by clicking the X icon and confirming.
  2. Activate it using the checkmark icon and then confirming.
  3. Edit a checklist using the pencil icon
  4. Duplicate a Checklist with the clone icon
  5. Delete it using the trash can icon.





16.  At the bottom of the checklist list, define pagination settings and download the currently displayed list as a CSV file.

  1. Create checklist templates that align with your department’s operational standards.
  2. Use custom views to streamline workflows for different user roles.


Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Can I assign multiple checklists to a single hydrant type?
A: No, each hydrant type can be associated with one checklist at a time.

Q: Why can’t I see a custom view created by another user?
A: The view may be private or restricted to specific users. Ask the creator to share it with you.

Q: What happens if I delete a checklist?
A: The checklist will be permanently removed. Ensure it is no longer needed before deletion.
