Daily Operations brings key day-to-day documentation into one streamlined workspace. Instead of navigating to multiple menus, users can now create and review Events, Daily Log entries, and Activities from a single location. This consolidation improves clarity, reduces duplicate steps, and supports faster operational documentation.
Four previous menu options—Activities Log, Event List, Daily Log, and Daily Log List—have been removed and combined into one menu option called Daily Operations.
This change allows users to:
View all department Events in one place
Access Daily Log entries without switching menus
Review and add Activities alongside other daily items
A new feature within Daily Operations is Passdown. Passdown functions like a traditional shift logbook handoff, letting outgoing crews package key operational items for the next shift in a single PDF summary.
To successfully use Daily Operations and Passdown, users typically need permissions within the Events & Activities module. Exact role names may vary by agency configuration, but ensure users have access to:
View Events & Activities / Daily Operations
Allows access to the Daily Operations list and viewing entries.
Create/Edit Events
Required to add new Events or create Events from templates.
Create/Edit Daily Log Entries
Required to add or update Daily Log entries.
Initiate Passdown
Required to select items, generate a Passdown summary, and create/view the PDF.
If a user cannot see Daily Operations or Passdown options, confirm their role includes these capabilities.
From the left navigation menu, open Events & Activities
Select Daily Operations.
You will see a unified list containing Events, Daily Log entries, and Activities. The Calendar, Daily View and List areas of the Daily Operations section mirror those of the Activities Log in the old menu setup
In the Daily Operations List View (left picture above), open the Actions dropdown.
Select the type of entry you want to create:
Add New Event
Add New Daily Log Entry
Add Event from Template
Complete the form and save.
The workflow and required fields are the same as in previous versions of Events and Activities.
In the Daily Operations List View, select Initiate Passdown.
A new Passdown row appears, and eligible items in the list become selectable.
Only entries that display as selectable can be added to the Passdown.
Select the entries you want included in the Passdown.
Choose Create Passdown Summary.
In the modal window:
Review the package summary (number of items and time frame).
Select the person initiating the Passdown.
Add a signature, select "Save Signature"
Select Confirm and Create PDF.
Once created, a timestamp is added in the list.
To view the PDF, select the PDF icon in the Actions column.
From the PDF viewer, you may print or save as needed.
Use Daily Operations as your single entry point. Encourage crews to stop using old navigation patterns and document everything here.
Double-check selections before generating the Passdown. The PDF represents a formal shift handoff record for that time period.
Standardize Passdown timing. Creating Passdowns at consistent points (end of shift) improves reliability and reduces missed information.
I don’t see Daily Operations in the menu.
Your role may not include access to Events & Activities or Daily Operations. Ask your administrator to confirm module permissions.
Some items can’t be selected for Passdown.
Only certain entry types are eligible for Passdown. If an item isn’t selectable, it is not supported for inclusion.
The Passdown option isn’t available to me.
You likely need specific Passdown or PDF export permissions. Contact your administrator.
Can I edit a Passdown after creating the PDF?
Passdowns are intended to be finalized shift summaries. If changes are needed, create a new Passdown with the correct items.
Change awareness: Users should be informed that the four older menus were removed and are now fully represented within Daily Operations.
Training approach: Demonstrate adding each entry type from the dropdown before finishing with a full Passdown example.
