Assets: Tagging a piece of equipment utilizing the Barcode Scanning Feature
Purpose
To provide instructions for utilization of a phone or tablet camera to store a piece of equipment's barcode into First Due so that piece of equipment can be easily located at a later time by using the First Due Barcode Scanning Feature.

Instructions
From within the First Due App, navigate to Menu > Assets > Equipment Checks.
Select the piece of equipment to be modified from the equipment groupings list and click update record.
Note: The barcode can also be captured when adding a new piece of equipment, however new equipment cannot be added within the First Due App. New equipment can only be added through the web version of First Due. To capture the barcode when adding new equipment from the web version of First Due, navigate to Menu > Assets > Equipment List > New Equipment > Equipment ID.
From the Info tab click the barcode icon next to the Equipment ID field. This will open the device's camera in scanning mode.
Note: The device may request permission to allow the First Due app to access the device's camera. If a popup requests permission to access the camera, click Allow or Okay.
When the camera field opens, center the barcode on the selected piece of equipment into the camera field. The camera will automatically capture the barcode.
The device will beep when the barcode is captured. The barcode alpha/numeric will now be displayed in the Equipment ID field and a success indicator will be displayed as shown.
The First Due Barcode Scanner will recognize the following barcode symbology types: Aztec Code, Codabar, Code 11, Code 25, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Data Matrix, DotCode, EAN, GS1 DataBar, MaxiCode, MSI Plessey, PDF417, Postal Code, Telepen, QR Code, UPC
That piece of equipment will now be searchable via the First Due Barcode Lookup function.
