Assets: Locating a piece of equipment in First Due utilizing the Barcode Scanning Feature

Purpose

  1. To provide instructions for utilization of a phone or tablet camera to locate a piece of equipment in First Due using the First Due Barcode Scanning Feature.

Instructions

  1. From within the First Due App, navigate to Menu > Assets > Equipment Checks.




  2. From the Equipment Overview tab, tap the barcode icon  in the upper right of the screen.  This will open the device's camera in scanning mode.  



    Note:  The device may request permission to allow the First Due app to access the device's camera.  If a popup requests permission to access the camera, click Allow or Okay.


  3. When the camera field opens, center the barcode on the selected piece of equipment into the camera field.  The camera will automatically capture the barcode. 





  4. The device will beep when the barcode is captured.  Once captured, The First Due app will automatically navigate to the piece of equipment that is associated with the captured barcode. 





  5.   Tap on the Equipment Name hyperlink to be directed to the Equipment Overview screen. From this screen, the selected piece of equipment can be managed as needed.
