Purpose Statement
The Quiz Builder allows users to create quizzes and knowledge checks for use within First Due online courses. Quiz settings establish the general requirements learners must meet, including quiz identification, completion time limits, and passing scores.
Once published, a quiz becomes available for use when building online courses.
Background Information
The Quiz Builder is part of the First Due Training and Learning Management System (LMS). Quizzes can be used to assess learner understanding and reinforce training content.
Before a quiz can be published, all required quiz settings and quiz items must be completed. Please see the related Article on the Quiz Question Types.
Users can save a quiz as a draft while it is being developed. A draft preserves the quiz creation progress but does not make the quiz available for use in an online course.
Required Permissions
Users must have the appropriate role permissions to access Training and the Quiz Builder, including the ability to create and manage quizzes.
If Quiz Builder or New Quiz is not available, contact your agency's First Due administrator to verify the permissions assigned to your role.

- Include a concise description explaining the subject or learning objective of the quiz.
- Set a time limit only when completing the assessment within a specific timeframe is necessary.
- Select a passing percentage that reflects the level of knowledge learners are expected to demonstrate.
- Save the quiz as a draft while questions and settings are still being developed.
- Review all quiz settings and items before publishing.
- Do not publish an incomplete quiz, as published quizzes become available for online course creation.
