Improved Med Kit Pouch Configuration Experience

• What - Enhanced the Med Kit Pouch experience by introducing a permanent Default Pouch that is automatically created for every Med Kit. The Default Pouch now appears first in the pouch list, remains visible even when empty, can be renamed to fit agency preferences, and provides a clear default location for medications that have not been assigned to another pouch. Additional interface improvements make it easier to configure pouch assignments, organize inventory, and understand how medications are stored within a Med Kit.
• Why - Creating and organizing Med Kit Pouches is a foundational step in managing medication inventory. These improvements simplify the initial setup experience, provide clearer guidance for new administrators, reduce confusion around unassigned medications, and make ongoing inventory organization more intuitive while ensuring every Med Kit has a consistent default storage location.
• How
  • Navigate to Admin > Medications > Med Kit List and create a new Med Kit or edit an existing one.
  • Open the Pouches section to view the automatically created Default Pouch.
  • Use + Medications to assign medications to the Default Pouch or any additional pouch.
  • Create additional pouches as needed to organize medications by storage location or operational preference.
  • Rename the Default Pouch if desired to match your agency's naming conventions.
  • Use Move to Pouch to relocate medications between pouches after they have been assigned.
  • Note: The Default Pouch cannot be deleted and always remains the first pouch displayed.
  • Note: Medications received without a specific pouch assignment are automatically placed in the Default Pouch.
• Use Case - An agency creating a new Med Kit immediately has a Default Pouch available without requiring additional setup. During configuration, administrators can assign commonly stocked medications to specific pouches while allowing any medications without a designated pouch assignment to automatically populate the Default Pouch. As inventory needs evolve, medications can be moved between pouches without affecting the overall organization of the Med Kit.
