Mobile Response (iOS) Release Notes April 2026
New Features
Multi-Provider Map Framework with SwiftUI Migration
- What - Introduced a fully redesigned mobile mapping experience built on a new SwiftUI-based architecture, enabling support for multiple map providers (ArcGIS and Google Maps) with full feature parity, including advanced overlays such as alerts, responders, hydrants, stations, CCTV, and preplans, along with real-time data updates, standardized gestures, and improved interaction consistency across all map experiences.
- Why - This change modernizes the mapping infrastructure to improve performance, scalability, and consistency while enabling flexibility to support multiple map providers and future enhancements without requiring significant rework of core functionality.
- How
- Navigate to Responder Map from the main application
- Interact with the map using standard gestures:
- Pinch to zoom, drag to pan, and tap markers for details
- Use Map Layers Panel to toggle overlays such as:
- Alerts
- Responders
- Hydrants
- Stations
- Preplans
- Switch between map providers where available
- Note: Feature availability may depend on configuration and permissions
- Use Case - A responder accessing the map during an active incident can seamlessly switch between map providers while viewing consistent overlays such as nearby units, hydrants, and incident markers, ensuring reliable situational awareness regardless of mapping source.
Feature Enhancements
Fixes
Resolved Map Stability and Crash Issues
- What - Fixed multiple high-priority crashes related to data storage and database initialization, improving app stability across navigation flows, app launch, notifications, and background states.
- Why - Addressing these crashes ensures a reliable user experience and prevents disruptions during critical response workflows where app stability is essential.
- How
- No user action required
- Fixes are automatically applied after updating to the latest version
- Use Case - A responder receiving an incident notification can open the app without experiencing crashes, ensuring immediate access to critical information and uninterrupted workflow.
Resolved Map Behavior and Data Consistency Issues
- What - Fixed issues including incident markers disappearing after interaction, map position not persisting when switching providers, improper credential handling when switching accounts, and inconsistencies in address search results due to restricted search radius.
- Why - These fixes improve reliability and ensure consistent, accurate map behavior across workflows, reducing confusion and improving operational efficiency.
- How
- No user action required
- Updates are applied automatically after installing the latest version
- Note: Address search results now reflect a broader and more accurate search radius
- Use Case - A user searching for an address or switching between map providers will now see consistent results and stable map positioning, ensuring confidence in navigation and data accuracy during response operations.
