Purpose Statement
Background Information
Password reset is a critical security feature that maintains account access while preserving system security. This process is commonly needed when users forget their passwords, change devices, or return from extended leave. The 24-hour reset link expiration ensures security while providing reasonable time for users to complete the process. This feature is particularly important for emergency services personnel who need reliable access to critical systems during incidents and routine operations.

Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: I'm not receiving the password reset email
A: Check your spam/junk folder first. If still not found, verify you're using the correct email address associated with your account. Contact your administrator if the issue persists.
Q: The reset link says it's expired
A: Reset links are only valid for 24 hours. Return to the login screen and request a new password reset email.
Q: I'm getting an error when trying to set my new password
A: Ensure your new password meets all security requirements (typically 8+ characters with mixed case, numbers, and symbols). Make sure both password fields match exactly.
Q: Can I reset someone else's password?
A: Only users with administrator permissions can reset passwords for other users through the admin panel. Regular users can only reset their own passwords.
