Purpose Statement
The Field Selection setting within the Hydrant Setup allows administrators to define which identifier appears as the primary header for hydrants and control which data fields are displayed to end users. This helps standardize hydrant identification and ensures responders see only relevant information.
Background Information
Within the Hydrant Module, each hydrant record can be identified by different types of IDs depending on department preference and workflow. Additionally, hydrant records may contain multiple data fields, not all of which are necessary for daily operations.
This feature allows departments to:
Choose a consistent hydrant identifier (header)
Customize visible data fields
Improve map readability across Responder, Pre-Plan, and Hydrant maps
Reduce clutter from unused or empty fields
Required Permissions
Administrator access
Hydrant Module configuration permissions
Ability to edit system setup/settings
