Purpose Statement
This article explains how to create and manage Hydrant Zones within the Hydrants module. Hydrant Zones allow departments to organize hydrants into groups for easier management, inspections, and operational assignments.
Background Information
Hydrant Zones allow departments to group hydrants based on operational needs such as:
Station coverage areas
Shift responsibilities
Geographic districts
Inspection assignments
By organizing hydrants into zones, departments can more efficiently assign hydrant inspections, track responsibilities, and manage hydrant infrastructure across their jurisdiction.
Zones act as a classification system and hydrants can later be assigned to these zones through the Hydrant List.
Required Permissions
To create or manage Hydrant Zones, users typically need:
Hydrants Module Access
Hydrant Setup permissions
Create/Edit Hydrant Zones
If you cannot see the Hydrant Setup menu or the Hydrant Zones section, contact your system administrator to review your role permissions.
