Depending on the type of work selected during registration, the portal can be used to submit Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) reports, permit requests, and inspection requests.
This article explains how to register for a Business Portal account and activate the account through email verification.
Background Information
Before creating an account, you will need the Business Portal URL provided by your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
During registration, you will be asked to provide:
- Business information
- Account information
- Type of work your business will perform
- Confirmation of your registration information

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the Business Portal
Open the Business Portal URL provided by your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
At the bottom of the login screen, select Register.
2. Enter Your Business Information
Complete the requested business information.
After all required business information has been entered, select Next.
3. Enter Your Account Information
Complete the required account information, including the email address and password you want to use for your account.
Remember the email address and password you enter. These credentials will be used to sign in to the Business Portal in the future.
Select Next to continue.
4. Select the Type of Work
Choose the type or types of work you will perform through the Business Portal.
Available selections include:
- Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM)
- Permit Request
- Inspection Request
You can select one or multiple options depending on the work your business will perform.
Select Next when finished.
5. Review Your Information
Review the information entered during registration.
If information needs to be corrected, use the available Edit options to make changes.
Once all information is accurate, select Next to continue to the confirmation and registration step.
6. Confirm and Register
Review and accept the Terms of Service.
Complete the CAPTCHA verification. Once the verification displays a green check mark, select Register.
7. Check Your Email
After registration, a message will appear instructing you to check your email to verify your account.
Open the email account used during registration and locate the Business Portal activation email.
If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your Spam or Junk folder.
8. Activate Your Account
Open the Business Portal verification email.
Scroll to the bottom of the email and select Activate.
After activation, you will be returned to the Business Portal login page. You can then use the email address and password created during registration to access your account.
