Native Routing Instructions in ArcGIS
What: The Quick Route Button has been replaced with the Calculate Route button when using the ArcGIS map in Web Responder. This new view will display text directions pulled from Google Maps API but will display within the ArcGIS map in a side menu allowing for Turn by Turn directions without leaving the Web Responder interface.
Why: This now allows for comparable feature capability within responder regardless of using Google Maps or ArcGIS improving the user experience while making a more seamless and integrated routing experience. This also improves the overall efficiency and productivity of the Web Responder workflow.
How: This enhanced feature is now available within the Response Module. No action is required.
Use Case: For agencies that utilize ArcGIS as a base map for response module, this feature now allows for the same routing experience as routing hen using Google maps. This allows users to seamlessly utilize the advantages of both ArcGIS and Google while still maintaining the same routing experience.
Sticky Settings for Web Responder
What: Unit Tracking Filter & Responding Layer Visibility Settings are now "Sticky". This means that changes made to the Unit Filter and the visibility of the response layers are now automatically saved and will persist even after a page refresh, logout or cache reset. Finally, these changes will also be automatically restored to the previously configuration without the need for the user to reapply any settings
Why: This feature enhancement eliminates the need for Users to manually reconfigure settings when navigating the First Due UI ensuring that the map's appearance remains consistent with the user's last configuration even after re-login or page refresh.
How: These enhanced features are available within the Response Module. No action is required.
Use Case: Previously, Users would have to reconfigure settings after navigating away from the Unit Tracking or map layers, or when login back into First Due. This feature enhancement ensures that those settings are now made once and will persist until changed again by the User even after page refresh or on re-login.
Fixes
Units Accessibility For Web Responder
What: This fix resolves the issue of not being able to access units stacked on top of each other within the response map. On the Mobile Responder, the bottom units would automatically shift to the top when selected making it accessible.
Why: This Fix resolves an issue on Web Responder when multiple Unit were stacked on top of each other which prohibited the User from interacting with all the Units. Previously, when 2 or more Units were at the same location on the map, Users could only interact with the Top Unit and the other Units were inaccessible even after selecting the Unit from the units Sidebar. This fix not only makes all units accessible within Web Responder but also creates consistency between Web Responder and Mobile Responder for a seamless and consistent user experience between both User Interfaces.
How: This Fix is now live within the Response Module. No action is required.
Use Case: When multiple Units are at the same location, User can now interact with all units by selecting the unit from the Unit Sidebar which will bring the bottom unit to the front for the User to select and interreact with.
All Calls on Responder Map
What: When a user zooms out on the map, all active calls will now be displayed on the map at all zoom levels.
Why: This Feature was originally in V1 but was absent from V2. This update now restores this feature to its previous and required capability.
How: These Fix is now live within the Response Module. No action is required
Use Case: When a User zooms in or out of the map, the active incidents will now always be visible for immediate and easy reference.
