New Features
1. Permit Request Submission and Payment Processing
- What - Service Providers can now submit permit applications directly through the Business Portal with integrated Stripe payment processing, custom data fields, documentation uploads, and real-time status tracking from submission through approval.
- Why - This feature eliminates paper-based permit workflows and enables immediate payment processing, reducing administrative burden for AHJs.
- How - Submit and track permit requests through the Business Portal.
- Use Case - A commercial contractor submits a fire sprinkler installation permit through the Business Portal by completing required fields, uploading stamped engineering plans, and processing the fee via Stripe, then tracks the review status and receives notifications when inspections are scheduled—eliminating paperwork while the fire prevention bureau benefits from immediate payment processing and digital audit trails.
2. Business Name Addition and Editing for Existing Locations
- What - Service providers can now add or update business names when submitting ITM reports for existing locations, with changes automatically flagged for AHJ review and approval before being applied to the location record.
- Why - This feature enables accurate record-keeping for ownership changes, rebranding, or corrections while maintaining AHJ oversight through an approval workflow that integrates with existing system status rules to ensure consistent processing standards.
- How - Add or update business names during ITM submission:
- Use Case - A service provider conducting a fire sprinkler inspection discovers the building previously listed as "Vacant" is now operating as "Fresh Start Bakery" under new ownership, so they add the business name during ITM submission, the fire marshal reviews and approves the change which automatically creates an updates occupancy records without manual data entry by the fire prevention bureau.
Feature Enhancements
1. Occupancy Record - ITM Systems Quick Access
- What - Directly access all ITM systems associated with an occupancy record through a dedicated "ITM Systems" navigation link that opens a pre-filtered ITM Reports view in a new tab.
- Why - This enhancement eliminates the need to manually navigate to ITM Reports and search for occupancy-specific systems, streamlining compliance review workflows by providing one-click access to all inspection, testing, and maintenance records for a specific location.
- How - Access ITM systems from occupancy records
- Use Case - A fire marshal reviewing a commercial occupancy for annual inspection can click "ITM Systems" from the occupancy record to instantly see all fire sprinkler, alarm, and suppression systems associated with that location—without manually searching ITM Reports—enabling quick compliance verification and identification of overdue inspections during pre-inspection planning.
2. ITM Management - Pending Reasons Configuration
- What - AHJs can now configure specific conditions that automatically trigger "Pending" status for ITM submissions through a centralized configuration system that categorizes pending reasons (location/business updates, initial statuses, status changes, resubmissions) and maintains historical tracking for audit purposes.
- Why - This enhancement replaces scattered "Flag as Pending" checkboxes with a unified configuration that enables prioritized review workflows ensuring consistent automated flagging of submissions based on customizable criteria.
- How - Configure and manage automated pending reasons: ITM → ITM Setup → Pending Reasons section, review organized categories.
- Use Case - A fire marshal configures their department to automatically flag any ITM submission showing an "Initial Impairment" or "Status Change to Critical Deficiency" as pending, so when a service provider reports a fire sprinkler system as impaired at a hotel, the submission is immediately flagged for priority review.
