New Features
1. Permit Request Submission and Payment Processing
- What - Service Providers can now submit permit applications directly through the Business Portal with integrated Stripe payment processing, custom data fields, documentation uploads, and real-time status tracking from submission through approval.
- Why - This feature eliminates paper-based permit workflows and enables immediate payment processing, reducing administrative burden for AHJs.
- How - Submit and track permit requests through the Business Portal.
- Use Case - A commercial contractor submits a fire sprinkler installation permit through the Business Portal by completing required fields, uploading stamped engineering plans, and processing the fee via Stripe, then tracks the review status and receives notifications when inspections are scheduled—eliminating paperwork while the fire prevention bureau benefits from immediate payment processing and digital audit trails.
2. Business Name Addition and Editing for Existing Locations
- What - Service providers can now add or update business names when submitting ITM reports for existing locations, with changes automatically flagged for AHJ review and approval before being applied to the location record.
- Why - This feature enables accurate record-keeping for ownership changes, rebranding, or corrections while maintaining AHJ oversight through an approval workflow that integrates with existing system status rules to ensure consistent processing standards.
- How - Add or update business names during ITM submission:
- Use Case - A service provider conducting a fire sprinkler inspection discovers the building previously listed as "Vacant" is now operating as "Fresh Start Bakery" under new ownership, so they add the business name during ITM submission, the fire marshal reviews and approves the change which automatically creates an updates occupancy records without manual data entry by the fire prevention bureau.
3. ITM - Business Portal User Notifications
- What - Business Portal service providers receive automated email notifications when AHJs reject ITM submissions or change system compliance statuses.
- Why - Service providers get immediate alerts when action is needed, eliminating constant portal monitoring and status inquiry phone calls while enabling faster corrective action.
- How - Receive automated email notifications for submission rejections and system status updates through the Business Portal.
- Use Case - A service provider submits an ITM report with incomplete documentation—they receive an immediate email explaining exactly what's missing and can resubmit the corrected report within hours instead of days, reducing your staff's time spent fielding status inquiry calls.
Feature Enhancements
1. ITM - Next Service Date Quick Selection
- What - Service providers can use one-click buttons for standard follow-up intervals (3 months to 5 years) instead of manually navigating calendar dates.
- Why - Faster report submissions with fewer scheduling errors mean more accurate compliance tracking and better adherence to code-required maintenance intervals.
- How - Select predefined interval buttons that automatically calculate Next Service Date based on the Service Date.
- Use Case - A technician completing an annual sprinkler inspection click "1 year" and the Next Service Date auto-calculates to next October—taking 2 seconds instead of 30+ seconds of calendar clicking, with zero calculation errors.
2. ITM - Comments History and Reuse
- What - Business Portal users can view all prior system comments with formatting preserved and insert previous comments when updating system status.
- Why - Service providers track ongoing issues and respond to AHJ notes without retyping complex deficiency lists, maintaining perfect continuity throughout the compliance process.
- How - Access comments history modal and insert previous comments with preserved formatting into status updates.
- Use Case - A technician returning to complete repairs clicks "Insert Previous Comment" to bring forward the original deficiency list, marks completed items, and submits the update—maintaining perfect documentation continuity in 30 seconds instead of 5 minutes of retyping.
