New Features
1. Bulk Renewal Process
- What: Automated system for processing multiple permit renewals simultaneously with validation, invoice generation, and Excel reporting capabilities
- Why: Eliminates manual processing bottlenecks for departments handling large volumes of expiring permits while ensuring accuracy and compliance
- How: Select multiple permits, choose "Submit for Renewal" from bulk actions, configure invoice options, system validates and processes in background with real-time notifications
- Use Case: Fire departments processing hundreds of annual permits can efficiently renew eligible permits while identifying and addressing validation issues through automated reporting
Feature Enhancements
1. Same-Day Permit Approval Fix
- What: Resolution of duration override issue that prevented 0-day permits from having matching effective and expiration dates.
- Why: Ensures temporary event permits and single-day permits expire correctly on the same date they become effective, maintaining regulatory compliance.
- How: System preserves configured permit type duration (including 0-day) during approval dialog and correctly calculates expiration dates.
- Use Case: Tent permits for single-day events, fireworks permit for specific dates, one-day vendor permits, and emergency access permits requiring same-day validity.
2. IFC Permit Class Field Management migration
- What: Migration of hardcoded "IFC Permit Class" dropdown to customizable field management system with flexible configuration options.
- Why: Enables Fire Department Admins to customize field labels and dropdown options according to department-specific terminology and classification needs
- How: Field moved to field management system with custom labels, dropdown option management, and protection against removing options in use.
- Use Case: Departments can adapt permit classifications to match local terminology while preserving existing data relationships and enabling cross-client cloning.
