Command Board: Fix PAR Timer Reset When Switching Views

  • What

    • Updated the PAR timer so it remains accurate and consistent when switching between DIV and BOARD views, preventing the timer from reinitializing or resetting during navigation. The timer now reads from a centralized/shared timer source so the Incident Commander and all connected viewers see the same synchronized value without requiring a refresh, and timer-related state or synchronization errors are no longer generated in logs.

  • Why

    • Switching views previously caused the timer interface to re-render in a way that could recreate local timer state, leading to resets and mismatched displays between users. Centralizing the timer source ensures navigation does not interrupt timing and preserves reliable operational awareness during active incidents.

  • How

    • From the Command Board, switch between DIV and BOARD views.

    • Confirm the PAR Timer continues counting without resetting.

    • Verify the timer value matches what other connected viewers see.

    • Notes:

      • No manual refresh is required to correct the timer display.

      • Timer state persists across navigation within the same session.

  • Use Case

    • During an active incident, the Incident Commander switches to DIV view to review division activity and then returns to BOARD view for assignment oversight. The PAR timer continues uninterrupted and remains synchronized for all connected users, ensuring PAR check-in timing stays accurate and trustworthy.
