Dashboard Module Release notes January 2026

First Due Dashboards

  • What – First Due Dashboards introduce pre-configured, role-specific dashboards that are automatically deployed into accounts, providing immediate access to relevant reports, maps, and operational insights across key modules. These dashboards serve as ready-to-use information hubs built with First Due Reports, featuring embedded visualizations, interactive maps, and quick links, while remaining read-only to ensure consistent delivery of ongoing updates and enhancements.

  • Why – This improvement reduces setup time, improves data visibility, and helps users quickly access standardized insights without requiring manual configuration. By delivering consistent, best-practice dashboards aligned to common operational roles, users can more easily monitor performance, support compliance, and make informed decisions while retaining the flexibility to create customized versions when needed.

  • How

    • Navigate to Dashboards from the Module Stack

    • Locate dashboards using the Filter option and search for First Due

    • Select a First Due Dashboard to view embedded reports, maps, and quick links

    • To customize, select Clone from the dashboard list to create an editable copy

    • Adjust widgets, layouts, and sharing settings within the cloned dashboard as needed

    • Note: Original First Due Dashboards are read-only and cannot be edited or renamed to ensure automatic updates are delivered

  • Use Case – A company officer opens a First Due Dashboard to quickly review hydrant readiness, visualize coverage on an interactive map, and access performance reports before a shift change, while an administrator clones the dashboard to tailor metrics and sharing for local operational needs without losing access to future updates.

  • What – The Links widget in the Dashboards module has been visually updated to improve readability and usability. Links are now displayed as larger, button-style elements with increased spacing between each option, replacing the previous compact list format. The link color has also been updated to a blue hyperlink style that aligns with the overall refreshed user interface design, creating a more consistent and modern visual experience.

  • Why – This change was made to enhance clarity and accessibility when interacting with dashboard links, especially in fast-paced operational environments. Larger buttons and improved spacing make links easier to identify and select, while the updated color styling ensures visual consistency across the platform and reduces cognitive effort when navigating dashboards.

  • How

    • Navigate to Dashboards → Open or Edit a Dashboard

    • Locate or add the Links widget

    • View links displayed automatically in the updated button-style format

    • Note: No configuration changes are required; the visual update is applied automatically to all existing Links widgets

  • Use Case – A dispatcher or command staff member viewing a shared dashboard can more quickly recognize and select frequently used resources, such as external reference tools or internal pages, during an active incident. The larger, clearly spaced buttons reduce the chance of misclicks and allow for faster navigation when time and accuracy are critical.

Dashboard Edit Mode Grid and Widget Sizing Improvements

  • What – The Dashboards module now includes visual and functional enhancements when in edit mode to make layout adjustments clearer and more intuitive. A visible grid appears when editing a dashboard, providing improved guidance for spacing and alignment. Widgets now lightly snap to the grid as they are moved, helping maintain clean and consistent layouts. Newly added widgets no longer default to a small size and instead appear at a larger, more usable size. An edit mode icon has also been added to clearly indicate when a dashboard is in editing mode.

  • Why – These improvements were introduced to simplify dashboard customization and reduce the effort required to create well-organized layouts. The visible grid and snap-to-grid behavior help users better understand spacing options and alignment, while the larger default widget size minimizes the need for immediate resizing. The edit mode indicator provides clear visual feedback, helping prevent unintended changes during normal dashboard use.

  • How

    • Navigate to Dashboards → Open a Dashboard

    • Select Edit Dashboard

    • View the visible grid that appears to guide widget placement

    • Drag widgets to see the light snap-to-grid behavior in action

    • Add new widgets, which will now appear at a larger default size

    • Look for the Edit Mode icon to confirm the dashboard is in editing mode

    • Note: Grid visibility and snap-to-grid behavior are active only while in edit mode

  • Use Case – A supervisor customizing a dashboard for shift operations can more easily align widgets such as activity summaries, links, and maps into a clean, consistent layout. The grid and snap-to-grid behavior help ensure spacing remains uniform, while the larger default widget size allows the dashboard to be usable immediately without extra adjustments.
