1710-Incident Alarm Handling Report

Purpose

  1. To explain how to navigate the 1710-Incident Alarm Handling Report.


Definitions

  1. Alarm Answering Time - The time interval that begins when the alarm is received at the communication center and ends when the alarm is acknowledged at the communication center.

  2. Alarm Handling Time - The time interval from the receipt of the alarm at the primary PSAP until the beginning of the transmittal of the response information via voice or electronic means to emergency response facilities (ERFs) or the emergency response units (ERUs) in the field. 

  3. Alarm Processing Time - The time interval from when the alarm is acknowledged at the communication center until response information begins to be transmitted via voice or electronic means to emergency response facilities (ERFs) and emergency response units (ERUs)

1. From the Reports Module, click on Incidents.

2. Change the Report Type to 1710 - Incident Alarm Handling.

4. Click on Advanced Search to adjust the report parameters.

7. The top of the report will show the different times and percentile rankings for each timeframe.

8. A pie chart will be displayed for the Alarm Answering Time and the Alarm Processing Time.

9. Click on a section of the pie chart to view that section in list view.
