The Med Log provides a centralized location to view, search, filter, and manage all medication-related activity within the system.
This feature allows departments to:
Track medication usage and events
Monitor user activity related to medications
Review and reverse eligible transactions
Export log data for reporting and compliance purposes
The Med Log improves accountability, supports audits, and ensures accurate medication tracking across Fire and EMS operations.
Background Information
The Med Log is located within the Medications module and displays a detailed record of medication events. These events may include medication usage, adjustments, reversals, and other related actions.
Common use cases include:
Reviewing medication administration history
Searching for a specific user’s medication activity
Filtering logs for audits or inspections
Exporting log data for compliance reporting
Printing detailed or individual logs
The Med Log supports customizable views, advanced filtering, bulk actions, and CSV exports to streamline reporting and oversight.
Required Permissions
To access and utilize the Med Log, users typically need:
Medications – View permission
Medications – Log View (or equivalent log access permission)
Medications – Reverse Event (to reverse eligible events)
Reporting/Export permissions (to download CSV files or print logs)

Permissions may vary by agency configuration. If access is restricted, contact your system administrator.

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Navigate to the Med Log
Select Medications from the main navigation menu.
Click Med Log.

2. Change the Log View
Select the View dropdown arrow.
Choose from:
Predefined Views
Custom Views
Shared with Me views
This allows you to quickly switch between saved configurations.

3. Search for Specific Logs
Locate the search field.
Enter search criteria such as:
User Name
Description
Event
Med Kit
Select the Magnifying Glass icon to run the search.

4. Apply Filters
Select the Filter button.
Choose the desired fields to filter the log.
Select:
Apply – Applies selected filters to the current view
Cancel – Closes without applying filters
Reset – Returns the view to default settings

5. Pin Filters to the Screen
Select the Thumb Tack icon within the filter panel.
This keeps filters visible while performing other actions.

6. Sort and Customize Columns
Select any column header to sort ascending or descending.
To resize a column:
Click and drag the line between columns.
To rearrange columns:
Click and hold a column header.
Drag it to the desired position.

7. Use the Actions Column
Within the Actions column:
Select the Eye icon to view the event.
Select the Circle Arrow icon to reverse an event (if applicable and permitted).

8. Use Bulk Actions
Select one or more events.
The Bulk Actions button becomes enabled.
Available options may include:
Print History Log
Print Individual Log
Detailed Log

9. Navigate Pages and Export Data
At the bottom of the screen, you can:
Navigate between pages
Select how many events display per page
Download the log as a CSV file

Use Predefined or Custom Views to reduce repetitive filtering.
Pin filters when reviewing multiple records.
Regularly export logs for audit backups.
Verify event details before reversing any transaction.
Limit bulk actions to reviewed and confirmed records.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: I cannot see the Med Log option. Why?
A: Verify that you have the required Medications and Log View permissions. Contact your administrator if needed.
Q: Why is the Reverse icon not available?
A: Not all events are eligible for reversal. Additionally, you must have the appropriate reverse permissions.
Q: My filters are not returning expected results. What should I check?
A:
Confirm all filter fields are correct.
Use Reset to clear filters and try again.
Ensure you are in the correct saved view.
Q: Why is the Bulk Actions button disabled?
A: At least one event must be selected before Bulk Actions becomes active.
Q: Can I export filtered results only?
A: Yes. Apply filters first, then download the CSV. The export will reflect the filtered view.
