Setting up and Deploying Snap Assignments

Purpose

  1. To explain how to set up and utilize snap assignments. 
  2. Snap assignments are used when an assignment is deployed on a case-by-case basis, like Technical Rescue Deployments.

Directions

1. Click on Scheduling > Setup.




2. Click on Assignments.


Click on Assignments.



3. Here you can see any current assignments within your department. Lets add a new one by clicking Add Assignment.

4. Here you can fill in the Assignment Details that you see fit. The name Is Required.

5. Next, you can:
  • Set the Recurrence Rule (When will the assignment appear on the Shift Board?)
  • Set the Start and End Time.
  • Set the First Occurrence.
  • Set the Last Occurrence.
The assignment has to appear on the Shift Board for one day to be classified as a snap. assignment. Set the First and Last Occurrence for a few months back to make this happen. 





6. Click on Positions.

7. Click on Add Position.

8. Determine:
  • What qualifier, if any, the position should hold. 
  • If the individual is the Officer in Charge.
    • This will automatically place the individual in that position on Fire and EMS Reports. 
  • If the position will count as a vacancy on the Shift Board. 
You can add additional positions as needed. 





9. Click on Save when done.

10. Next, go to Scheduling > Shift Board and hover over More options. Select Add Snap Assignment.






11. Fill in the:
  • Assignment
  • From and Until Date
  • Start and End time
Click Save when done. 





12. The snap assignment will be created and will appear at the bottom of the Shift Board assignments. The snap assignment can be identified by the green plus sign.

13. To remove a Snap Assignment, Click the three vertical dots, and click Delete Snap Assignment.
