Feature Enhancements


1. Multi-select of Optional Objectives for Courses 

  1. What: Ability to create courses with optional objectives.
  2. Why: Gives instructors flexibility to customize which objectives to include when creating a class from a Course.
  3. How: When creating a Course, navigate to objectives tab and select "make objective selection optional" toggle.
  4. Use Case: Instructors can select which objectives to include when creating a class from a Course.

2. Actual vs Expected Start and End Timestamps.
  1. What: Allows training instructors to record both expected and actual class durations.
  2. Why: Helps track discrepancies between scheduled and actual class duration.
  3. How: When creating a class, fill in both expected and actual time fields on the Class tab.
  4. Use Case: Use expected times for scheduling purposes and actual times for official class record.




         




3. Configurable Apparatus Name Display.
  1. What: Allows administrators to choose whether apparatus is displayed by name or associated dispatch unit name.
  2. Why: Tracking assets utilized in Classes can reflect the apparatus name as it is known to department personnel.
  3. How: Training > Setup > Settings
  4. Use Case: Personnel will be able reference Apparatus utilized for Training with preferred display option.     








4. Bulk Update for Training Standards Status.
  1. What: Allows administrators to activate or deactivate multiple Training Standards simultaneously.
  2. Why: Saves administrators time when managing large numbers of Standards.
  3. How: Training > Setup > Standards > Bulk Options.             


5. Enhanced Certification Status display in Dashboard.
  1. What: Improves accuracy of certification status labels on Dashboard.
  2. Why: Certification status on Dashboard will match actual certification states.
  3. How: Training > Dashboard > My Active Certifications
  4. Use Case: Dashboard now displays the exact certification status, providing clearer visibility.             






6. Notification System Updates.

  1. What: System and Email notifications, option for direct user or multiple users.
    1. Notification for Assignment to Self-Complete Class
    2. Notification for Assignment as Instructor
    3. Notification for Upcoming Training
    4. Notification for Expired Certification.
  2. Why: Improve notification options available for Training Module.
  3. How: Training > Setup > Notifications
  4. Use Case: Instructors will be able to customize notification settings according to system actions.

UI Improvements

1. Self-Complete Modal Update
  1. What: Self-Complete Modal redesigned.
    1. Blue "Start" label for classes not yet started.
    2. Yellow "In progress" indicator with percentage completed (for SCORM)
    3. Yellow "In progress" indicator with fraction completed for objectives with multiple attachments.
    4. Green "Completed" indicator with completion date.
    5. Visual icons representing different content types (PDF, Video, Excel, Image)
    6. Arrow indicators for expandable/collapsible sections.
  1. Why: To improve the user experience with a redesigned organized visual interface.
  2. How: Training > Dashboard > Active and Upcoming Classes
  3. Use Case: Users will be able to clearly navigate Self-Complete Classes and view associated attachments in one area.






2. Improved SCORM Player Modal Integration.

  1. What: SCORM files now open up within the modal instead of in a popup window.
  2. Why: Provides users a seamless experience without popups while maintaining functionality.
  3. How: When launching SCORM content, it now opens directly within the application.
  4. Use Case: No popups mean better compatibility with browser security settings and mobile devices.

Bug Fixes


1. Fix for Training Settings "Limit to Associations" Issue
  1. What: Resolves inconsistencies in how the "Limit to Associations" setting was being applied across different parts of the Training Module.
  2. Why: Provides consistency across all Training module screens.
  3. How: Training > Setup > Settings


2. Fix for YouTube Videos Duplication
  1. What: Resolves an issue where YouTube videos were being duplicated each time a class was created with an objective containing YouTube links.
  2. Why: YouTube links no longer multiply when the same objectives are used in multiple classes.
  3. How: When viewing objectives with YouTube links, only the original links will display, regardless of how many classes use that objective.



3. Prevent editing hours after Objective Completion.
  1. What: Fixes an issue where hours for completed objectives could be modified in the UI but weren't actually saving to the database.
  2. Why: Prevents confusion by blocking input attempts for completed objectives.
  3. How: Once an objective is marked as completed for an attendee, the associated hours fields are disabled to prevent editing attempts.
