Fire Incident Setup - External Resources

Purpose:

  1. To demonstrate how to setup an External Resource to be accessed from within a fire incident .

Information:

  1. Agencies can use External Resources to link to either an external website or a file uploaded into First Due.
  2. If using an external website, simply copy the URL into the space provided and begin at Step 7.
  3. If uploading an in-house file, a First Due URL will need to be created using the Upload Utility feature first, then added as an external resource.

Directions:

If using an Internal File (PDF, JPG, PNG)


1. Navigate to Upload Utilities






2. Click on Upload New File


Click on Upload New File



3. Choose a file from your device. Add a description if desired.

The maximum file size is 2MB

4. Click on Create.


Click on Create.



5. Right click on the new file, then select "Open link in new tab"






6. Copy the URL and Close the tab





Using an External URL or After Adding a File:


7. Navigate to NFIRS Setup -> External Resources.






8. Click on Add Resource.






9. Enter the Display Name and URL for the external resource.






10. Click on Save.





11. Manage Existing Resources.
  1. Use the icon to rearrange the order in which the resources appear inside the incident report.
  2. Use the  icon to edit the display name or URL for each resource.
  3. Use the  icon to delete a resource.




12. Inside of an incident report, providers will have quick and easy access to each resource.
