Business Portal - How to create an account

Purpose Statement

This article guides service providers through the process of activating their account in the First Due Business Portal. This ensures access to inspection, testing, maintenance, and permit request functionalities, streamlining communication with fire departments and supporting compliance workflows.

Background Information

The First Due Business Portal allows external service providers to register and manage their business profiles, request permits, and perform inspection-related tasks. Each fire department using First Due has a unique portal URL, and businesses must complete a multi-step registration process to activate their account and gain access to the Service Provider Portal.

Required Permissions

No internal First Due permissions are required for external users to register. However, administrative users within the fire department must ensure the Business Portal is properly configured and accessible. The following internal permissions may be relevant for setup and support:
  1. Manage Business Portal Settings
  2. View/Approve Business Registrations
  3. Send Activation Emails (if manual trigger is used)
