First Due Test Accounts - What are they and how are they used?

Info
**Departments Beta Testing NERIS will be doing so in your TEST environment ONLY!**

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to explain what First Due Test accounts are and how they can be used.

Background

First Due has two types of Test Environments.  Test and Test Daily.  These accounts can be used for numerous things.  In this article we will explain what they are, how to access them, and how each differ.

What are Test Accounts?

Test and Test Daily are exact replicas of your normal Production account.  They exist in a Test Environment.  You can make changes you would like to test out or practice setting up various versions of processes to determine what would work best for your Department.  When any changes are made it will not alter anything in your Live Production Account.

Common uses for Test Accounts:
  1. Testing processes
  2. Training personnel
  3. Validating your set-up configurations and settings before making any changes permanent

Who can access the Test Accounts?

  1. All active users in a First Due account have access to these environments with the same login credentials they use in their Live Production Account.
Notes
Any user who accesses Federal Accounts will not have access to either Test Environment.

How do your Test and Test Daily accounts differ?

  1. Test is a mirror image of your normal production account that refreshes each month at the conclusion of the month.  Any data entered during that month will be deleted when the refresh occurs.
  2. Test Daily is a mirror image of your normal production account that refreshes nightly.  Any data entered during that day will be deleted when the refresh occurs.

Use Cases for Each Environment

  1. Test
    1. When you want to test a process to see how it works over a period of time you would want to use Test because data remains for multiple days / weeks.
  1. Test Daily
    1. Test Daily is a great environment to use when training your personnel.
      1.   Users can practice without altering your data in your normal production account.
    2. When you want to make a change to a process, procedure, or setting and you want to see the end result of "what happens" when the change gets made.

How to access your Test Accounts

To access either your Test or your Test daily enter one of the following URL's:
  1. Test - https://test.firstdue.com/
  2. Test Daily - https://testdaily.firstdue.com/
  3. Select which version you would like to use and navigate to the sign in screen.

Info
Sign in with your normal login credentials.  The Role you are assigned to and the Permissions you have in your normal Production account will be the same Role and Permissions you will have in either Test account.
Warning
Always confirm that you have entered either of the Test Accounts by ensuring that there is a banner at the top of the screen:

Info
If you do not see either of the Yellow Banners you are not in the Test Environments and any information you change may be happening in your regular Live Production Account.
Always ensure the Banners are present before proceeding!
