Purpose Statement
The First Due Inspection Form Builder allows departments to create inspection forms with bilingual language support in English, French, and Spanish. This enhancement enables departments to generate inspection reports in two selected languages, making inspection results easier to understand for business owners, property owners, and other recipients who speak different languages.
This article explains how to create a bilingual inspection form, select the appropriate languages, configure inspection response translations, and review the completed inspection report.
Background Information
The Inspection Form Builder supports bilingual inspection reports, allowing departments to select up to two languages for each inspection form.
Available language combinations include:

Standard inspection response values can also be configured for French and Spanish while maintaining their underlying system behavior.

Best Practices
- Select languages carefully: Confirm the required language combination before saving the inspection form. Language selections cannot be modified after the initial save.
- Use descriptive form names: Consider including the language combination in the form name to help distinguish bilingual forms from other inspection forms.
- Verify translated response values: Review French and Spanish inspection response text for accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain consistent terminology: Use consistent language when configuring inspection responses to ensure inspection results are clearly understood.
- Review completed reports: Open a completed inspection report to verify that supported labels and response values display correctly.
- Understand supported sections: Not every field in the Form Builder is necessarily bilingual. Review the supported report elements to understand where translated labels will appear.
- Preserve inspection response behavior: When configuring translated response values, ensure the displayed text accurately represents the existing inspection response.
