Purpose Statement
The Command Staff area of the Command Board allows incident personnel to assign units to predefined command staff positions during an incident. These positions provide a structured command hierarchy and help track command assignments within the Command Board.
Background Information
Command Staff positions are displayed on the left side of the Command Board. The available positions, their names, and their order are determined by the Command Board template configured in Command Setup.
Units can be assigned to Command Staff positions to indicate responsibility and command roles during an incident.
Important Note:
Users working within the Command Board cannot create, rename, reorder, or remove Command Staff positions. Any changes to the Command Staff structure must be made by modifying the associated template in Command Setup.
Required Permissions
Users must have permissions that allow them to:
- Access the Command Board
- View Command Staff positions
- Assign units to Command Staff positions
- Manage personnel assignments associated with units
Important Note:
Specific permissions may vary by agency configuration. Verify Command Board access permissions within your system's user role settings.
