Purpose
This article explains how to navigate and manage Work Order Boards within the First Due Hydrants module. Work Order Boards provide a visual workflow that allows users to organize, prioritize, and manage hydrant maintenance tasks efficiently.
Permissions
Users must have the following permissions:
Access to the Hydrants Module
Permission to View Work Orders
Permission to Create/Edit Work Orders (to add or modify records)
Permission to Delete or Archive Work Orders (if applicable)
Permission access is typically managed by an Administrator within System Settings.

Directions
Navigate to Hydrants from the main menu.
Select Hydrant Work Order Boards.
Locate the Service Board dropdown menu.
Select the appropriate work order board from the list.
Click the Sort By dropdown menu.
Select one of the following sorting options:
Date
Priority
Hydrant Name
Work Order Number
Click the Ascending/Descending Sort icon next to the Sort By dropdown.
Toggle the icon to adjust the order of the selected sorting method.
Order can only be changed when more than one Item is located on the board.
Click the New Work Order button.
Complete the required fields.
Save the work order to add it to the board.
Locate the work order tile within its current status column.
Click and hold the tile.
Drag and drop the tile into the appropriate status column.
Work orders automatically update based on their placement on the board.
Within each work order tile, use the available action icons to:
View/Edit the work order
Print the work order
Delete or archive the work order (based on permissions)

Regularly review and update work order statuses to maintain workflow accuracy.
Use sorting features to prioritize high-priority or time-sensitive repairs.
Avoid deleting work orders unless necessary—archiving preserves historical data.
Ensure users understand status column definitions to prevent workflow inconsistencies.
