Purpose Statement
The purpose of this article is to guide users through creating and completing a hydrant work order within the First Due platform. Hydrant work orders enable agencies to track maintenance, repairs, and operational status to ensure hydrant readiness, accountability, and compliance.
Background Information
Hydrant work orders can be initiated from multiple modules within First Due, allowing flexibility based on user workflow and operational context. Whether accessed from a map, list, or work order board, users can quickly generate requests tied to specific hydrants.
This functionality is commonly used by field personnel, inspectors, and maintenance teams to:
Report hydrant deficiencies or damage
Schedule maintenance and repairs
Track hydrant operational status (in service vs. out of service)
Maintain compliance and inspection records
Required Permissions
Users will need the following permissions:
Access to the Hydrants Module
Access to Responder View and/or Pre-Planning Module
Permission to Create and Edit Work Orders
Access to Hydrant Work Order Boards
Note: Permissions may vary by agency configuration but are typically assigned to field users, inspectors, and supervisors.
