Purpose
- To explain how to complete a hydrant service checklist and generate a hydrant work order within the system. This process ensures hydrants are properly inspected, maintained, and tracked, helping agencies maintain operational readiness and compliance.
Background Information
Hydrant service checklists are used to document inspections, testing, and maintenance activities for hydrants. These checklists can be accessed from multiple modules, including Response, Pre-Planning, and Hydrants.
Completing a checklist allows users to:
- Record hydrant condition and operational status
- Capture inspection data (pass/fail, measurements, notes)
- Trigger follow-up actions such as work orders or flow tests
Creating a work order directly from the checklist streamlines maintenance workflows and reduces manual data entry.
Required Permissions
Users will need the following permissions:
- Access to the Hydrants Module
- Permission to View and Edit Hydrants
- Permission to Start/Complete Service Checklists
- Permission to Create Work Orders
Permissions may vary by agency configuration.
